CLIMATE When it rains in the rainforest there is a possibility of 250cm of rain a year. Thats a lot of rain. This climate can get very damp. Also it doesnt have summer and doesnt have a winter either. It gets a lot of rain and sunlight. This climate jumps back and forth when it rains. Sometimes it will rain and still be hot outside. The average temperture in the Tropical Rainforest can reach up to 100 degrees fehrenheit. It can be 100 degrees at one time in the morning. When it is 50 degrees all the animals come out, then the animals at the top of the food chain can eat the animals at the bottom of the chain.
LOCATION
. There is only 57% of Tropical Rainforests in Latin America. 18% more is located in West Africa. That is so amazing. Most of the rainforests are near or right on the equator. This will make the climate very hot. Also the rainforests are in the Pacific Island. This type of rainforest is also located in Brazil. It is very close to the Amazon River. It covers about 300 acres of land. Another location for the Tropical Rainforest is in Australia, New Guinea, and Queensland.
PLANTS
Cola is related to cacao, the plant in which chocolate is produced. Also it is known as a flavor in cola soda pops. Another plant is the Ebony. Ebony has extremely hard wood that sucks in water from rain. This wood is also used for piano keys, cutlery handles, musical instruments, and carving tools. A Talipot Palm is usually in clusters and is the largest plant in Plant Kingdom. This plant can have trunks of 80 feet and the height of 3 feet. Last the Freycinetia has a slow peeling leaf to produce smaller plants.
TREES
The Banyan Tree is one of the wonders in Plant Kingdom. This plant starts of as an epiphyte. Then it gets air and moisture from the rain that helps it grow. This tree can extend over several acres. The cacao tree can make chocolate. This tree contains sugar and milk to make the chocolate. Another tree is the mangroves. This tree has to adapt to living in wet marshy conditions. These roots spread out wide and grabs nutrious organic matter. The kapok tree can be called Majestic. The kapok can grow to 150 feet. This tree is located in West Africa, South Africa, and Southeast Asia.
ANIMALS
An animal in the Tropical Rainforest is the Bearded pig. It has a diet of only fruit. Something thats good for this pig is that it`s not threatend by any animals. This animal walks the forest floor searching for coconuts and kiwi. Another animal is a Indian cobra. It eats small mamals, reptiles, and amphibians. The Green Anaconda is like a semi boa which hangs from trees. It hangs from trees because it blends in with the green leafs on the tree. Also it has a stagering length of 90 cms. A Goldon Poison Dart Frog is one of the most poisonest frogs in the Tropical Rainforest. It atacks with its tongue that sends poison through its enemy. I dont want to have an encounter with this vicious animal. Another animal is the Tasmanian Tiger. It can rip its enemy to shreads if it feels threatend. This animal has ten stripes on the back and has a plain body in the front.
FAVORITE ANIMAL
My favorite animal in the Tropical Rainforest is the Indian Cobra. One adaptation for this snake is that it has a movement sensor in its body. This adaptation helps this animal because it can find it prey. Also it can spit venom into its predators eyes so it cant see. Additionally it moves fast as lightning so it can strike its prey. Next the cobra can use its tounge to detect smell from an animal that was in that exact place. Another adaptation for the cobra is that it will grow from 6 - 8 feet long which can make its predator frightend. Last it can also watch its prey in tall wavy grass and strike at any moment if the prey doesnt see the cobra coming. This organism needs to have tall grass so it can hide and watch its prey. Also it needs holes in the tree so it can rest and reproduce.
